2013 Certification Scholorship

    Certification Scholorship Available

    We are excited to offer a scholarship for PHR/SPHR/GPHR/PHR-CA/SPHR-CA certification available to SHRM volunteers at both the state and local chapter levels. 

    General Information:  The Mississippi State Council of SHRM has approved a $250 scholarship to be awarded based on the attached criteria to one Mississippi SHRM or local MS chapter volunteer. The Scholarship Selection Committee will be comprised of Mississippi chapter certification volunteers. The scholarship is issued on a reimbursement basis; recipient will have initially paid for the exam, and must have taken and passed the exam in one of the previous two testing windows (December (2012)/January (2013) or May/June (2013)). Once awarded the scholarship, funds will be released to the recipient once proof of successful completion of the certification exam is submitted.

    Selection Criteria:

    1. PHR/SPHR/GPHR/PHR-CA/SPHR-CA Certification within the last year.
    2. Current Mississippi SHRM volunteer at state or local level.
    3. SHRM volunteer history and activity.
    4. Supporting essay submitted by applicant with the topic, “Why PHR/SPHR/GPHR/PHR-CA/SPHR-CA certification is important to me.”

    Application Procedure:   

    Submit complete application with all applicable attachments (see “Application Documents”) to cbyrd@vikingrange.com  no later than November 1st.  Applicants will be notified of the selection decision no later than November 30th.    

    Reimbursement Procedure: 

    The Scholarship Selection Committee will review all submissions and make a selection no later than November 30th each year.  A check request will be processed at that time.
