MS SHRM’S AUGUST 12 LEGISLATIVE RECEPTION TO ADDRESS WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS AT FEDERAL AND STATE LEVELS

    The Mississippi Society for Human Resource Management (“MS SHRM”) and the Capital Area Human Resource Association (“CAHRA”) are pleased to present a Legislative Reception on August 12, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held at the County Line Hilton in Jackson and feature United States Senator Roger Wicker.  Senator Wicker is Co-Chair of the Senate’s STEM Education Workforce Caucus.  He will discuss his role on the STEM Caucus as well as his efforts to ensure that Mississippi’s workforce is as qualified as possible in an increasingly competitive marketplace. 

    Senator Wicker will be joined by the Mississippi Department of Education’s Bureau Director of the Office of Career and Technical Education, Mike Mulvihill, who oversees financial, program and student organization activities for the department.  Mr. Mulvihill will address state workforce development initiatives to produce the talent that Mississippi employers will need for the 21st century.
