The Event

The Mississippi SHRM Leaders' Retreat is one week away and will feature four speakers during the two-day event.  This event is designed to provide instruction for new chapter leaders but also to provide professional growth and development for current members of the Mississippi State Council of SHRM (MSHSRM).  The 2013 MSSHRM Leaders' Retreat is being held on February 01-02, 2013 at The Alluvian, a cosmopolitan boutique hotel in Greenwood, Mississippi.

Dorothy Knapp

The Mississippi SHRM Leaders' Retreat is one week away and will feature four speakers during the two-day event.  One speaker, for me in particular, has always been an inspiration and a source of encouragement on all things SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management).  That individual is Dorothy Knapp.

Dorothy has shared her direction and insight with Mississippi SHRM leadership for many years when attending various events, participating in conference calls and/or communicating by email.  She is truly an example of SHRM at its best.

How SHRM Can Help You in Your Volunteer Role

Dorothy will present "How SHRM Can Help You in Your Volunteer Role" during the 9:45am - 10:45am session of the 2013 MSSHRM Leaders Retreat.  This discussion is summarized as:

Join Dorothy as she discusses the value of your chapter being a SHRM affiliate and how you can maximize the resources available to you in your new volunteer role. Learn about the Volunteer Leaders Resource Center (VLRC), the SHAPE program, the Pinnacle Award, and available resources for helping you to grow membership. Share success stories and ask “burning” questions about SHRM, the world’s largest Human Resources organization, dedicated to leading a network of over 1,000 professional and student chapters.

I look forward to seeing Dorothy at the event and hope that she is able to bring the same inspiration to new chapter leadership as she has done for me over the years.
