Scholarships

We are excited to offer a scholarship for PHR/SPHR/GPHR/CA-PHR/CA-SPHR certification available to SHRM volunteers at both the state and local chapter levels.  

General Information:  The Mississippi State Council of SHRM has approved a $250 scholarship to be awarded based on the attached criteria to one Mississippi SHRM volunteer for the May/June testing window.  The Scholarship Selection Committee will be comprised of Mississippi chapter certification volunteers.  Once awarded, the scholarship will be issued on a reimbursement basis; recipient will initially pay for the exam and then funds will be released upon successful completion of the certification exam.

Selection Criteria:

1. PHR/SPHR/GPHR/CA-PHR/CA-SPHR Certification for May/June testing window.
2. Current Mississippi SHRM volunteer at state or local level.
3. SHRM volunteer history and activity.
4. Supporting essay submitted by applicant with the topic, “Why PHR/SPHR/GPHR/CA-PHR/CA-SPHR certification is important to me.”

Application Procedure:   Submit complete application with all applicable attachments (see “Application Documents”) to judy.nail@staplcotn.com  no later than August 1st.  Applicants will be notified of the selection decision no later than August 31st.     

Reimbursement Procedure:  The Scholarship Selection Committee will review all submissions and make a selection no later than August 31st each year.  A check request will be processed at that time.
